He has fished the West Coast for 7 years but only seriously considered charter operating 3 years ago. With guidance of 20 year veterans, Don Pederson and Jim Robertson, Doug was able to absorb knowledge that would normally take years to experience. Through out the last three fishing seasons you may have seen or met Doug for he spent many days fishing and staying at the dock. During this time, he was able to hone his skills as not only as a fisherman but also learn the full extent of being a successful charter operator by working on both the Blew By You and Refuge overnight charter vessels.

With his passion for fishing ever so apparent and his attitude towards safety being a # 1 concern, Clients should feel safe knowing that Doug will ensure a “Comfortable” atmosphere while providing the best fishing experience possible during your stay with Coast Charters.

You need only supply your food, choice of beverage, salt water fishing license, Sleeping bag and clothing. Also don't forget your good humor, laughs are many!!

I supply downriggers, rods, reels tackle, bait, ice, pillows and fresh linen.

About The Vessel

The M.V. "Blew By You" is a 32 by 11 foot factory fiberglass cruiser. This vessel exceeds the "Canadian Coast Guard Small Vessel Regulation Safety Standards and more importantly "Transport Canada Small Vessel Regulations". This vessel is also fully insured and approved for charter use.

Some of you may be familiar with the factory name of "Fairline or Fairbanks". The aggressive hull was designed in England and is produced in all the major countries around the world. The mold used for this vessel has not changed in 24 years and all hulls are built identical that meet the high standards set forth by the England Factory. The hull was designed for the rough sea's that are common to the European coastal waters. 500 of these vessels were manufactured for a floating hotel located at False Creek, Vancouver for the event Expo 87.

She is powered by two very fast reliable 300 HP MPI Mercruiser Stern Drives with Bravo 3 Dual Prop Legs . The engines are located below deck, this allows plenty of room to fish. An aluminium fishing platform surrounding the stern of the vessel adds much enjoyment to your fishing experience. Easy entry and exit from the boat.

As you enter the main cabin area you go through a sliding patio door with a couch on one side and another couch on the other (both used for bunks at night). Forward of the starboard couch is the lower helm (skippers seat) with full instrumentation and controls. The galley (kitchen) is forward down 2 stairs with the galley on the port (left) side and a galley table on the starboard (right) side. The table area seats 5 comfortably. Forward to this and on the port side is the toilet, sink and shower area. Forward to this is the V-Berth Cabin with a privacy door.

The vessel is heated with an "Espar" forced air heating system along with engine heater. She has a pressurized hot and cold water system. Propane stove/oven. 120/12v fridge. 120V Inverter. GPS Laptop Computer Navigation. Microwave Oven. Premium Sound System. Satellite Radio (Sirius). 24 Mile Radar. Color Sounder. 2 VHF radio's including DSC & Cell Phone Communications.

Sleeping up to five comfortable and it's 25 knot cruising speed, this is truly a vessel in it's own class.
