Kanata Cubs Newsletter – April 30th, 2008
THANK YOU
For your understanding on the evening of the 16th, when
Kanata was closed. We did not know in advance that the school was not
going to be open. All of the things we had planned for that night, we
did at tonight’s meeting.
Thank you also to those that participated in the St. George’s Day
service. The cubs did a great job reading, ushering, flag bearing and
candle lighting, and were the most well behaved group that Akela has
ever seen in the 11th’s history!
Thanks to all parents who brought snacks. They were Yummy! Your efforts
were very much appreciated.

TONIGHT’S MEETING
Eric and Nivan were invested as Sixer and Second, following Thomas’s
departure to Scouts.
Zachery was presented with his First Place Trophy for winning the Skeena
Area Kub Kar Race Finals. Once again, congratulations, Zachery! We are
all very proud of you.
We also worked on our knot tying skills with the reef knot, the bowline,
and the boat knot. Each Cub earned a “Tied up in Knots” crest.
We once again read from the original Jungle book by Rudyard Kipling.
DON’T FORGET WE HAVE A WEB SITE: www2.citytel.net/scouts
- CHECK IT OUT!
VERY IMPORTANT
– Please drop off your cub at the gym door at Kanata school. Also, we
remind parents to pick up their child at the gym door as the leaders
cannot release the child without the parent or guardian. If you cannot
due to a disability – please see Akela to make arrangements with another
leader.
