SEEDS FOR OUR FEATHER FRIENDS AGAIN
Mae Jong-Bowles and Marie Cox-Rogers Kindergarten class recently teamed up with Oceanwild Nature Expedition, running a special fundraiser. For the few weeks leading up to "Earth Day", students were very busy selling packages of seeds to help our feathery friends and the Prince Rupert Wildlife Rehab Shelter. This has been a long and cold winter. Our feathery friends needed our help to kick start SPRING. Kindergarten students with the help of many other students at Conrad School took orders for bird seed. Close to a hundred pounds of seed was donated by Oceanwild. Packages of seed were sold for $2 each, with all the funds raised being donated to the Shelter. In the photo, the class and teachers are shown presenting a cheque for a staggering $1800. The Prince Rupert Wildlife Rehab Shelter thanks everyone for their efforts and we are humbled by this generous donation...

The Grade 6 class attended and presented a cheque for $386 to the Wildlife Shelter from the proceeds of a bake sale that they held. The students also took 8 garbage bags full of blankets, towels & sheets to the Shelter for the animals. Nancy & Gunther Golinia - operators of the shelter, thank the students, teachers and parents for this generous act of kindness, which allows the shelter to continue to provide the much needed care for the birds and animals that come under their care.

Wightman Twins Donation

February 26, 2008 - Wightman Twins
Alanna, Ryan and Savannah are seen in the eagle pen after making a donation of $351 to the shelter. The money was recently raised at the twins 11th birthday party, where donations to the shelter were asked for in lieu of presents being bought for them. The Shelter would like to thank the Wightman twins, for their thoughtfulness and generosity, in support of the shelter helping the animals in our community.

Conrad School: Kindergarten Donation

June 27, 2007 - Conrad School: 06/07 Kindergarten
Conrad kindergarten students sold "Earth Day" bracelets and with the help of pennies donated by fellow students, collected $231.45 for the Wildlife Rehab Shelter. They toured the shelter to see how their donation and others from the community is used in rebuilding the facility, after the snowstorm disaster. The students, accompanied by their teacher Mae Jong-Bowles and some of the parents, are pictured with Bill Keating an active shelter supporter. We would also like to thank Mae for her donation to the shelter. In lieu of a gift for 20 years of service from the school board, Mae elected to forgo the gift and donated the money to the shelter.

A BIG THANK YOU
to Mae and all the kids !!!!
